The Kid’s Site of Canadian Settlement - Educational Resources

The Kid’s Site of Canadian Settlement - Educational Resources

This website is designed for children in grades four to six. In this unit, students learn about one or more of the early settlement communities of Canada through playing interactive games, researching prepared text and examining a variety of primary documents. They learn to think creatively and critically while completing activities that will give them a better understanding of the settlement community or communities they are studying. In a culminating activity, they will share their learning by producing a poster that will teach others about their settlement group(s).

Originally released in 2007 but removed at the end of 2019, this unit can still be accessed through the Internet Archive.  As with any archived site, it's possible that some of the links or functionality may be broken.  (Hint: You can use the timeline toolbar at the top of the screen to view the page as it was published in different years.)
